Problem Statement
Recreating the classic "Space Invaders!" game on the mobile platform with the addition of new elements.
What is the game?
Finest Hour is a top-down window shooter, where the player defends a beach from incoming enemies using a tank. Being adept in defending rewards the player with in-game currency that he can use to purchase better equipped tanks and repeat the game loop.
The game also features a short and thematic tutorial that allows the player to jump right into the game with all the necessary learning. I chose to add a tower defense element to it in order to offer the player a chance to play in a risk induced manner.
Owing to limitations of the engine's serialization, the game saves it's entire shop mechanism using one variable. The jury that assessed me especially liked the technical feat that I achieved by this game and it was well appreciated.
As a testament of my development, I put it up on an open drive
Note that this project is a part of my first semester jury at Rubika Supinfogame.
