Problem Statement
A team project on creating a mobile game that focuses on a single mechanic for its gameplay.
What is the game?
Vehicle operator is a top down puzzle game where the player has to control the vehicle’s direction at intersecting points on the road. The player has to reach a set of destinations under given constraints (mainly time) in order to complete each level.
The game features two modes with custom soundtrack. Through the game the player learns optimization of resources as they are constantly changing paths to get to destinations in time. The intuitive and tutorial free gameplay also allows players of varied skill levels to approach it.
This was the first team project I worked on for a video game and the first one I handled as a project manager. Working in a team for a sprint development timeline offered new challenges and fostered my interest in project management.
The project was also a major success as not only did we outperform academically but the game was also selected for Industry Connect on a Crowdfunding website.
Note that this project is a part of my first year's mid-term jury at Rubika Supinfogame.
